The Therapist

Apeksha Saxena is a Specialist Hand Therapist and an Occupational Therapist.
She qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2003, and completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2006 from Coventry University, U.K.
 
She is Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered , a member of British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT) and is a contributing member of British Association of Hand Therapists(BAHT).

She has been working with NHS since 2006 and been specialising in Hand Therapy since 2010. She currently works as a  Clinical Specialist Hand Therapist at Royal Surrey County Hospital.
 

About Me

I am  a very passionate Hand Therapist. I believe in delivering a timely and holistic care to my patients. 

I have gained a broad range of clinical skills and experience during my years in clinical practice. My experience includes the areas of Trauma and Orthopaedics, Plastics including fractures, tendon , nerve repairs and elective reconstructive surgery, Paediatrics and Rheumatology. I have extensive skills in the bespoke fabrication of all forms of splints and orthosis.

I have a keen interest in treating complex finger injuries and am also interested in the rehabilitation of  tendon injuries. 
 
I am  committed to ongoing professional development and enjoy keeping abreast with the latest evidence and research in Hand Therapy and surgery.
I am  zealous about optimising functional outcomes for patients and problem solving complex situations to improve patient care. I am determined to offer outstanding patient led care focussing on patient's values, beliefs and their individual life style.
